It’s time for my annual look at the Baltimore Comic-Con. This year, the convention was held from September 20-22 and as usual, I went to the show on Saturday. It’s a special one this year because it might be Brett’s last convention since they’re a senior in high school So, join us as we buy VIP passes for our day at the con, hang out with Stella, talk to artists in Artists Alley, and buy a bunch of stuff!

And here are some extras for you!
The VIP Package
You can sort of see it in the episode cover art, but here’s a more full shot of what I got as part of the VIP exclusives. In addition to the lanyard and badge, there was a special VIP-edition of the convention T-shirt, which featured the program cover; the 2024 yearbook, which featured The Tick; an exclusive Planet Death comic from Bad Idea; a Spider-Man print by Mike McKone; and I purchased the special 25th Anniversary pin from the Hard Rock Cafe.

Artists Alley
For my time in Artists Alley this year, I was able to meet and talk with a few people and here’s where you can find their work:
First, there’s Guiseppe Manunta, whose graphic novel Helle Nice I picked up (and had signed–with a sketch!).
You can check out his Facebook page here

I also had the chance to talk to creators at Divergent Comics and Comics Bookcase as well as Scott Larson, creator of Visitation. Here’s links to where you can find them:

Cosplay Pics
Once again, Brett decided to cosplay, this time as The Beast from Over the Garden Wall. Here’s a gallery of shots of them along with several other cool cosplayers.

Signatures and Sketches
Throughout the show, I got several books signed and also bought a couple of pieces of really cool artwork. Included in this gallery are comics and Who’s Who entries signed by Dan Jurgens, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, Art Adams, Jimmy Palmiotti, Michael Golden and Terry Moore. Plus, check ou tmy VHS copy of Aliens signed by Jeanette Goldstein (Vasquez), the Robin artwork I bought from JLGL, the Jonah Hex sketch from Jimmy Palmiotti, and the amazing Maleficent drawing from Thom Zahler!

Purchases
Finally, a gallery of what I bought at the show, which included a number of comics and a couple of mystery packs and boxes.

Next year’s con will be in late October and while it’ll be my first solo con in years, I’m still really looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone who talked to me (and Stella)! If you were there, feel free to drop me a line to share your experience!
